Lifestyle Solutions has released our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for 2026–2028, formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.
A Reconciliation Action Plan is a formal, action-focused commitment to reconciliation. It provides a structured framework for turning goodwill into measurable action, with clear goals across three core pillars: Relationships, Respect, and Opportunities, all underpinned by strong governance.
Our vision for reconciliation
Our vision is to embed the values, heritage, cultures and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples into every aspect of our work. We are committed to self-determination, empowerment, belonging, cultural safety, truth-telling, deep listening and acknowledging lived experience and cultural identity to support wellbeing and promote healing.
We acknowledge the enduring impacts of colonisation, dispossession and intergenerational trauma, particularly in the areas of out-of-home care, justice and health. This RAP is our commitment to addressing those inequities with honesty, integrity and action.
Why this matters for us
A significant proportion of the children and young people in our care identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Every day, across our teams, we see the importance of connecting children and young people in our care to culture, community and mob. We see the difference it makes when children grow up strong in their identity, knowing who they are and where they come from. Our RAP commits us to putting that understanding into practice and bringing it further into everything we do.
What our RAP includes
Our RAP is structured around three core pillars:
- Relationships — building and maintaining meaningful connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and ACCOs
- Respect — embedding cultural understanding and respect at every level of our organisation
- Opportunities — enhancing employment, professional development and business opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and embedding procurement practices that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses
All three pillars sit on a foundation of governance, ensuring the RAP is tracked, measured and accountable.
How our RAP was developed
Our RAP was shaped through consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team members, partners and community members, whose knowledge, experiences and insights helped inform its commitments to reconciliation. It was formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.
Our commitments
We are committed to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, deep listening, truth-telling and learning from the oldest continuing cultures in the world. We value our relationships with Aboriginal communities and ACCOs, and are embedding procurement practices that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.
