Lifestyle Solutions is an essential service that provides supports to people with disability, young people and children in Out Of Home Care, their families and communities.

In the face of the COVID-19 health situation we have a need to temporarily increase our work force.

We’re looking to fill a number of Support Worker roles on a casual and fixed-term basis.

Our roles and what you’d be doing:

 

  • Providing positive support to our customers in both residential and group homes
  • Personal care that includes toileting, showering, feeding, dressing and grooming
  • Transportation, preparation of outings, community participation and appointments
  • Supporting the development of independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning and other domestic duties
  • Administration of medication
  • Provide positive role modelling and support in the areas of emotional behaviour, health, incident management, hygiene and education

 


What skills and qualifications do I need to have: 

 

  • Current driver’s licence (mandatory requirement)
  • Current First Aid certificate, HLTAID003 (or be willing to obtain)
  • Ability to identify and manage risk to ensure safety for all
  • Confidence and professionalism in your approach to providing personal care
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Loads of enthusiasm, resilience and a calm and patient manner

 


Hours and pay:

Support Workers are paid according to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Service Industry Award 2010

  • Casual hourly rate of between $34 -$35 with shift loadings applicable for afternoon, evening and weekend shifts
  • Group homes are staffed 24/7 and a typical shift pattern is 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm and 10pm – 6am (both sleepover and active)
  • Individual support includes shorter shifts from 2-8 hours, respite shifts and sleepovers
